Rose Quartz Benefits

Rose Quartz

In ancient Greek culture Cupid, the Roman god of desire, and Eros, the Greek god of love, gave humans the gift of love in the form of Rose Quartz. Another legend tells the story of Rose Quartz and its powers of love and reconciliation. When Adonis was attacked by Ares, who was in the shape of a boar, his lover Aphrodite came running to his aide. Along the way, she got caught on a briar bush and by the time she found her lover, a mix of their blood started to soak into the quartz stone, giving Rose Quartz its iconic rosy pink hue. The legend is a reminder of the Rose Quartz stone meaning and its powerful association with romantic love. In Native American cultures, the Rose Quartz meaning was used to soothe negative emotions like anger and disappointment by bringing love into newly harmonized emotions.

Going beyond romantic love, the Rose Quartz meaning is also strongly linked with compassion and unconditional love. Rose quartz enhances love of all kinds, including kindness for yourself, loved ones, and all living things. The Rose Quartz stone meaning uses the energy of unconditional love to bring your consciousness to a higher level. Its high frequencies will help you forgive by understanding situations from more positive perspectives. The emotional healing of Rose Quartz comes from allowing you to let go of toxic energies and emotions that have become trapped inside of you. By opening and activating the heart chakra, the Rose Quartz stone can also help you recognize your capacity for compassion.

How to care for your Rose Quartz:

Clear negative energy at least monthly by passing through smoke a few times of incense or the flame of a candle. You can also clear the crystal by placing it in dry soil for a few hours. It is not recommended to use the same potted plant or same spot in nature as it can kill the plants with the repeated discharge of negative energy. Recharge the crystal by placing it in the sun. If you have a large enough piece of selenite the rose quartz can be on the selenite overnight where it will both clear and recharge the rose quartz at the same time.

According to Judy Hall, the author of The Crystal Bible

What is crystal healing?
Crystal healing uses the natural vibrations of crystals and stones to provide noninvasive therapeutic holistic treatment. The human body is 70% water making humans a liquid crystal. During crystal healing crystals and stones are placed on or beside the body to interact with the electromagnetic energy in the body using the stones subtle vibrations. Crystals can absorb, focus, direct, detoxify, shift and diffuse energy. Crystals and stones are used to rebalance chakras, clear energy blockages in the body and restore the natural energy flow of the body. Crystal healing should not replace traditional medical treatment but can be beneficial in addition to traditional medical treatment. Crystal healing helps to restore the body’s natural rhythm and equilibrium which enables the body to function at a higher level, however, it does not imply a cure.
